First Baptist Church Huntsville will host a Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center blood drive June 6 with free A1C testing and limited-edition World Cup T-shirts for donors.
First Baptist Church Huntsville will host a mobile blood drive Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in partnership with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
Donors should check in at the FBC Family Life Center before heading to the donor coach in the parking lot at 981 13th Street in Huntsville.
Donors will receive free A1C testing and a limited-edition World Cup T-shirt as a thank-you gift. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center collects more than 1,000 donations each day through donor centers and mobile blood drives. Those donations help provide blood and blood components for patients across 26 Texas counties, including those needing trauma care, cancer treatments and surgeries.
The organization serves more than 170 hospitals across the Texas Gulf Coast, Brazos Valley and East Texas regions.
Blood products collected at mobile drives may include whole blood, double-red cells and plasma. Platelets can only be donated at a donor center.
Donors are encouraged to review eligibility requirements at giveblood.org. The minimum age to donate is 16 with a completed underage donor consent form and weight requirement met. There is no donor age cap.
